Are you a novice cyclist or just don’t want to keep up with fast paced group rides? Do not despair, there are both road and mountain bike group rides for you to join.

Princeton Sports has two Sunday rides that cater to all levels and have experienced cyclists on hand (and in special jerseys so you can find them). Ride leaves the Columbia Store at 9 am. Ride leaves the Baltimore Store at 10 am. (Howard County, Baltimore County)
[The Bicycle Escape has a ride that leaves Utica Park at 1 pm. Average speed 14-18 mph, road bikes recommended.] – This ride is for beginners bridging into intermediate road rides. (Frederick County)
The Rockville Bicycle Advisory Committee has monthly rides on the bike beltway around Rockville. Family-friendly and will accommodate all riders. At 10 am.
Family Bike Shop – Every Sunday beginning on July 5th. Meet at 8 am at the shop, wheels down at 8:15 am. This is a 10 mile ride that goes at a 12 mph average speed. (Anne Arundel County)
[Race Pace in Baltimore has a “moderate” ride that is ideal for road bikes, but if you’re a feisty hybrid you’re welcome as well. Wheels down at 6 pm. (Baltimore City)] – not currently running
B’more GREEN ride leaves from Mt Washington and goes to the Loch Raven trails. It is 50/50 road and mountain biking and maintains a casual pace. (Baltimore City)
Race Pace in Westminster has an intermediate ride that averages 14+mph. This ride will teach you how to ride in a group and in roads. (Carroll County)
Performance Bicycles in Baltimore, Columbia, Gaithersburg, and Rockville have a beginner level group ride that leave at 9 am. Average pace between 12 and 15 mph. Check with the individual store to confirm ride. (Baltimore County, Howard County, Montgomery County)
Hub-C’ville Bikes in Catonsville has a mellow, conversation-paced ride that leaves at 10 am. This ride will go as fast or as slow as the riders that attend and is a good opportunity to occasionally push yourself. (Baltimore County)
Proteus’s beginner ride leaves at either 8 am or 10 am (check calendar or Facebook). It is a short ride with a stop for food partway through. (Prince George’s County)
At 1:15 pm out of the Hub-C’ville Bikes is “Sunday Fun-Day.” All skill levels welcome. This is a great way to build skill, learn trails and get out of the house on Sundays. (Baltimore County)
All American Bicycle Center has a mountain bike ride that leaves the shop at 8 am. They will design the route based on the skill level of those who show up and will take children over the age of 10. (Montgomery County)
MORE leads a casual Patapsco Thursday Night Ride out of Rockburn Park in Howard County.
