Columbia Association’s Community Building Speakers Series: To your health, how community design can promote healthy lifestyles
The event features Mark Fenton, a national expert in public health, transportation and planning, who will discuss how the physical design of communities can help promote healthy lifestyles, starting with the creation of “complete streets.” Complete streets are built to safely and comfortably accommodate all users, including pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, and those using transit.
The event will be held on Oct. 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Oakland Mills Meeting House, which is located at 5885 Robert Oliver Place. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged but not required via CASpeakerSeries.EventBrite.com.
