RecWell Bike Shop is a student-powered bike shop providing free bike repair and education for all UMD students, faculty, and staff. The shop also rents commuter and mountain bikes, hosts bike maintenance classes and group rides, and has a limited inventory of bike parts and safety equipment for sale.

Baltimore kids Kinetic Energy Collective, also known as BYKE, is a cutting-edge after-school program devoted to the development of Baltimore’s kids on both a personal and professional level. BYKE empowers adolescents via experiential learning opportunities, community involvement, and the power of bicycles. The organization was founded on the premise that every young person has the potential to impact the future.
Anne Arundel County
Our mission is to provide free rides for seniors or anyone with mobility limitation on our special disability-friendly trishaws. Our program aims to reduce isolation and create positive energy through “wind in your hair” experiences that involve slow rides focused on storytelling, sensory stimulation and community engagement. Our program is based at Sunrise Senior Living of Severna Park. Volunteers give rides along the B&A Trail. We also provide guidance for starting a Cycling Without Age program in your area.
Howard County
Free Bikes 4 Kidz is a nonprofit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. We collect bicycles starting in October, refurbish them with dozens of volunteers, and give them away directly to kids in need and to Maryland nonprofits in December.
Harford County
They provide donated bikes to kids and families.
Anne Arundel County
Our mission is to provide community members in need with healthy transportation and recreation, protect our environment by reducing waste and to help those in need. The program is based at the Anne Arundel County Food Bank in Crownsville, MD.

The Rockville Bike Hub aims to enable members of the community to obtain, recycle and maintain bicycles, to repair and donate to those in need unused and unwanted bicycles, to educate community members about benefits of biking and to enhance the health of our community and environment by promoting bicycle transportation.

Velocipede is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing hands-on education in bike maintenance and a community workspace, while giving used bikes a new life. You can buy a used bike, learn to fix your own bike, donate a bike, or take a class with this organization.
